Affiliates Program

The main goal of the Affiliates Program is to facilitate an active interaction among business, industry, government, and academia in computer research, development, and education. We believe the sharing of information and resources is beneficial to our mutual development in computer science and engineering. The Affiliates Program was developed to provide a mechanism for organizations to collaborate with the Department

The program offers many benefits to business, industry and government. Affiliate members are able to interact with our faculty on research topics of mutual interest, to keep abreast of current research results through meetings with the faculty and technical publications, and to gain early access to our high-quality student base. There is also an opportunity to influence computing research and education and to participate in long-range technical assessments of problems and directions in the field.

There are also many benefits to the Department. Through the interaction, we can learn about current problems in industry. Students have an opportunity to learn about, and participate in summer internships. Students can gain information about careers in industry, business and government and have an opportunity to pursue them.

Membership in the Affiliates Program is based on a contribution to the Department. There is a three tier membership hierarchy, based on the benefits.
